Withers Consulting Group has been named as Family Business Advisor of the Year at the tenth annual STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) Private Client Awards.
The Family Business Advisor Category featured a strong set of finalists, consisting of both firms and individuals: AH Loder Advisers, Angus Advisory Group, Walid S Chiniara of Deloitte Middle East, Deloitte Private and William Heuseler of Itaú Private Bank.
The award recognises Withers Consulting Group’s family business specialists’ practical approach to helping family businesses, family offices and entrepreneurs navigate through a step-by-step process to understand, articulate and achieve their vision.
The Presiding Judges commented: “Withers Consulting Group showed real understanding of family business dynamics, and provided an impressive list of example matters demonstrating strategic impact for clients, technical skill, competence and thought leadership. They also made a wide contribution externally through events, publications and teaching.”
“Winning a STEP PCA has proven to be a clear mark of excellence as entries go through a rigorous, practitioner-led judging process to select the best in the industry.”
Chair of the PCA Presiding Judges Paul Stibbard TEP, who opened the award’s ceremony, said: “Just being shortlisted is a great achievement, so the firms and individuals who won should be very proud indeed.”
Held by STEP, the worldwide professional association for those advising families across generations, the annual awards are held in the highest regard across the private client world. More than 700 private-client professionals gathered for the Awards at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, which was hosted by TV news anchor and journalist Huw Edwards.
The event supported the International Senior Lawyers Project for a second year, raising a further £83,186 for the charity, which offers pro bono legal assistance to support under-resourced governments, non-governmental organisations and advocates in developing countries to advance fundamental rights, lift their nations out of poverty and establish the rule of law.
